Summer Assignment

Men’s Men

In the 2012 Kia Optima commercial you enter onto a young unshaven white male frowning in his sleep. When a sandman appears and spills a shiny bag labeled sweet dreams onto him. Then the man is in a brand spanking new shiny Kia Optima. He is racing on a race track in it, where ton’s of bikini clad women are cheering and fawning for him. A smile spreads across his face at the sight of them, and only grows as he rounds the corner to find a huge stage with smoke and lights, the works, filled with Motley Crue, one of the greatest rock bands. The scene is pulled away back to the man who is now smiling. The advertiser is trying to show that having this car will make you hot, irresistible to the ladies, and that life is better and more fun. The guy who owns this car is the guy you want to be: fun, carefree, and sexy. The car will make your dreams reality. The lighting is night time, a guy who knows how to live a little after dark. Motley Crue music sets the ultimate rock n roll tone while the fog and stage lights attract a man even more to wanting the car. The generic hot boy and if you are a guy then it is typically generic to want a wicked car, rock bands, and bikini clad girls, even though some men aren’t like that. It’s what we generally associate with men. An image that all they want is girls, rock, and shiny objects, it’s like just generically getting all blue for a baby boy or all pink for a girl. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are like that, but it’s what we associate with people.

Men’s Women

In this Axe commercial you find a young, fit, guy using an open shower on the beach. As he washes off with Axe, his movements are copied by the bikini clad women on the beach. As he washes off, the women take off their tops with his movements. When he stops and turns around, two young, beautiful women are standing there, tearing his clothes off with their eyes, as they hold the remains of their bikini tops against their chest. Two half dressed women, eyeing you, what man wouldn’t want that. The adviteser is saying that by using axe women will be attracted to you so much they may go crazy. A beautiful beach and bright light shows off the tan in the women and more importantly to men, what they are holding on to. Men seem to like the idea of women fawning over them, especially if they are a dime-piece. It’s the ultimate fantasy. They have it all: beauty, bikini’s, confident looks, and steamy eyes. The perfect woman to men, especially since in the entire commercial, they don’t talk.

Women’s Women

The generic Vicotria Secrets commercial, young, sexy, women in lingerie. Three young women laying seductively on a beach in lacy, pretty lingerie. Giving off the ultimate sex appeal and conveying confidence.

The add is saying that this lingerie will make you sexy, confident, and make you all over attractive, giving you all the key ingredients to sex appeal and seduction. And what do women want more than to be fit, gorgeous, and attractive to men, not much. In the commercial the lighting is bright and sunny, making the colors vibrant and beautiful. It makes it look fun and sexy. A soft pretty music is playing making the whole thing that more attractive. Its trying to attract women to buy their lingerie so they will look this good. When girls think about how they want to be when they get to be thirty and flirty, who wouldn’t want to be a Victoria’s Secret model. They embody what every women wants to be like, what we all strive to be: beautiful, confident, coy smiles, and utter perfection on camera. It’s the high standard we believe we all have to live up to in today’s society, women have to be perfect, even though we know we can’t achieve that, we still strive for it.

Women’s Men

Scene. Men and woman stopping what they are doing, causing panic and mayhem all focusing on just each other. The men are fully focused on the women and gorgeous looking. They are all, women and men, young and beautiful. It is trying to grab both men and women into the product, and what girl can’t love the thought of a simple product getting a man to stop what he is doing and pay attention to only her, and look good while he is doing it! It’ bright out, showing off all the nice sexy men who only want to pay attention to that one girl. They are trying to young females to buy the product so they can get the boy. It’s a perfect scene for any girls fantasy. A love at first sight with panic and chaos in the distance, its like every romantic torrid love affair. It follows the dream that you can’t come in contact with a hottie, the air of mystery is up since you don’t know him, and feel this strange connection like a magnet. We also tend to love all those dark haired, toned, type of men. It’s what we see when we picture someone perfect. Dark, tall, and hunky.

The Reading Bucket List

Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick

Finale is the story of the forbidden love of Patch, a fallen angel, and Nora, a nephil/human. A romantically dark story that grips you from cover to cover and will not let you put it down for a split second. The cover is right on cue and the back cover is only a taste of the amazing story. The characters are easy to connect to and make you feel as if you are a bystander in the story, your apart of it. I should know since reading the first three books in this amazing saga.

Identical by Ellen Hopkins

Identical is about Raeanne and Kaeleigh, identical twins, who are dealing with an always gone mother and a terrible father. I love Ellen Hopkins writing and the small poems she throws into the story if you look between the lines. She is on my list of top authors, I know that every book I have ever read of hers is outstanding, and it helps when the cover of Identical is super shiny and attractive.

Forbidden by Syrie James & Ryan M. James

After reading the first few pages, I immediately felt connected to the character that was very similar to me which is one reason I felt drawn to it. Stories that make you feel like you are the main character are the best it makes the story truly come alive. In Forbidden Claire and Alec come to find out that their special powers, make their entire love and life, forbidden.

Tilt by Ellen Hopkins

Hopkins style of writing is unique and I love it! I am excited for this one to come out as it follows the paths of three teenagers who are witnessing the fallout of their parent’s bad choices and are clinging to hope. Hopkins never fails in enticing me with her incredible stories of heartbreak and revelation.

Luna by Julie Anne Peters

I am always into books about transgender transformation, not really sure why. But when I read some of the inside of Luna, the story of how Liam wants to go from boy to girl to fit who he truly is, I was immediately reminded of I Am J which is one of my favourite books. It is similar except reversed transgender perspective, boy to girl from girl to boy. This is why I wanted to read Luna more, to get the other transformation perspective.

Hourglass & Afterlife by Claudia Gray

However, I do count these as two different books; my reason for wanting to read them is more or less the same. They are book part of the Evernight series and it is an amazing series about Bianca, a born to be a vampire, and how she falls in love with Lucas, a vampire hunter. The first two books in the series are amazing and I loved it enough to finish them in a matter of days.

Forever Young by One Direction

One Direction is my favourite band and I love to read biographies on famous people who I think are crazy awesome. This particular novel is about their journey to stardom and generally I like books that get a little personal with real stars and make them seem more human instead of these icons we little people see like in Steve-O’s Memoir. I am more than a little excited to get to this one!

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Cinder is about a sixteen-year-old girl who is considered a mistake in the world. I was most intrigued by the cover than the actually story which I am assuming is going to be Cinderella-esque. In that case, Cinderella was one of my favourite and the very many versions you will find floating around on TV. In addition, movies and of course, books.

Sweetest Taboo by Eva Marquez

Sweetest Taboo
is about an illegal romance between young Isabella and her teacher, Mr. Stevens. It tries to paint a truthful story of actual love and lies to keep a romance alive. I always loved the Ezria relationship in the PLL show so I am sure to enjoy this one. Plus forbidden romances are the best kind in stories, it’s no fun if there is no danger!

Sebastian Perri, Monster&&Pizza, and Fabulosity

In life we all have three key ingredients besides you know dreams, family, && self respect. We also need to have an amazingly flaming best friend, a code name for the guy you & your best friend both like even though he can be the biggest doucher, and the ability to get in touch with your inner fabulous.

Sebastian Perri. He is the next big thing in fashion...once he learns to sew! He has definetly come in contact with his inner fabulosity! When you meet him, you smile. Hilarious, Crazy, && has a love for RuPaul. Today we were listening to the remix of Supermodel by RuPaul. AHMAZING!! Although I did totally embarass him by singing along and grooving with the beat. We decided that one day we are gonna move in together in a two bedroom place in San Fran so we can go to college together. I can't be seperated from my flaming BFF, one day when I'm famous he is going to design all my red carpet looks! If he doesn't kill me first, for always calling him straight guy. QUOTE: "Bitch, call me straight one more time and I'm going to shove my stilleto so far up your ace you'll have Louis Vuitton braces!"

Every set of BFF's have code names for all the guys you like or that they like, it's a girl's second nature! My BFF, Lindsey, & I have code names for everything. For our mutual crush it's Monster&Pizza, he has the cutest butt in the world. My nickname for her is Miss Polka Dot, because she always has little undie slip ups when she has polka dot panties. Haha!! We have nicknames for the cute spanish boy "Jalpeno&Chedder", for her cute spanish boy "Moose", for Seb's future lover (lol) "Sexy Chicken", for the short little kid Miss Polka Dot "LittlePerfection", for the cutie in oral communication "Big Perfection" and honestly I can't remember all the names. I don't have a nickname for the guy I like... but then again noone knows I like this guy, except for my cousin/BFF...but she lives in Cali, so it doesn't count because we don't talk about guys too often. Its more like our future crazy adventures.

Fabulosity. Wether or not we except it, we are all fabulous! We just need to figure out were we hold our fabulosity. I recently found mine. Past my chubby exterior I've come to find I am beautiful and I can sing, act, & my friends think I'm the best writer. One day they are sure I'll have a novel...if I can stick to one long enough. My voice is pretty with the right key. I love the odd songs like 'On My Own' or 'Bonse Aba' or 'Old Time Rock n Roll' or 'Sammy Decter' or 'Reflection'. (The Mulan version not the Christina Aguilera version) Acting is my passion. I don't care how long it takes, I'll never give up on acting. I love it. And when I take time, I've got a nice fashion style. But you have to except your fabulosity to get it. It took me awhile, but I realize now that:

I.
AM.
FABULOUS.
